We as organisers want to thank all the athletes, sponsors, media, volounteers, visitors, fans, neighbours, officials, policemen, pedestrians, the groupies, parents, traders and all other whitewater enthusiasts for an outstanding and exciting week of fierce competitions, shows, parties and lots of fun!!
The VW Multivan River Jam 2008 is over, yet the organisers are already gearing up for a much bigger, more exciting and much more challenging production: The ICF Kayak Freestyle World Championships 2009 in Thun!!
We wish everyone safe travels home and a very sucessful winter (summer)!!

The K1 Men start tomorrow morning at 09:00am with the prelims. We had another fantastic day in mighty Thun and having a Live show on Swiss TV at primetime even put the "cream on top of the cake"!
We look forward to the three resting exciting days...

Second and last Trainingsday..

With fantastic weather, constant waterlevels and a good competitionwave, the different nations started in the second and last days of training before the event!
The nationstrainings work until 7pm tonight, after that the "team captain meetings" take place. The site constructing is finished, the computerjudgingsystem gets tested and installed right now, the drinks get cooled down in the fridges and the grills get started today!
Tomorrow morning the competition kicks off with the K1 Junior Ladies. The weather is supposed to be fantastic throughout the whole weekend.
It looks like a perfect weekend ahead of us, and we look forward to great competitions and a fantastic multicultural atmosphere...

A wicked weatherforecast and a falling and stabilising level in the lake, makes the organisers look very happily to the coming week!
The eventsite constructing starts tomorrow 8am. At the same time the wave gets adjusted for the first time, so that competitors can train for the thursday starting prelims of the VW Multivan River Jam 2008.
This afternoon the finals of the second World Cup event in Augsburg (GER) are held. After tight prelims the french Matthieu Dumoulin is in first place after, Superstar Eric Jackson (USA), Peter Csonka (SLO), Simon Strohmeier (GER) as well as Dustin Urban (USA). By the women, Marlene Devillez (FRA) is in front of World Champion Ruth Gordon (CAN), Emily Jackson (USA), Maria Lindgren (SWE) and Nina Halasova (SLO).
The finals are held right now! After that some of the athletes will already start their journey to Thun to train as early as possible for the final event, starting the coming thursday with the prelims of the Junior Women.
The organisers are, under a clear blue sky, about the finish the last preparations for the coming week and look forward to a terrific and multicultural final World Cup Event 2008!

The famous girl label ROXY (little sister from Quiksilver) launches this fall an exhibition in Switzerland in cooperation with some of Switzerlands most famous women, accomplished female athletes and well known persons.
Shown at different events and vernissages, this exhibition raises awareness on breast-cancer and tries in a very special way to help and support Switzerlands biggest organisation that fights against this illness!

At the VW Multivan River Jam we try to incorporate athletes and visitors alike! It should be fun to compete, but also fun and entertaining to just be there and have a good time!
Well, to bring something extra to everyone we teamed up with Wakeadventure again after last years sucess:
For a very cheap selfcost price you have the chance to hop onto a big motorboat and head out on the lake and have a session of Wakesurfing (Surfboard behind a boat)...
The trips will be available on saturday and sunday, take about 2hrs and inscription is right @ the VW tent on site!
Check it out, its lots of fun!

Swiss Boater Cross Masters 2008- 9./10. August- Interlaken

From the 9.-10th August 2008, the final event of the "Swiss Whitewater Cup presented by VW MUltivan" goes down in mighty Interlaken on the spectacular and technical "White Luetschine" river. The event was until this year part of the infamous "Outdoor Games"! Since this event does only held shows these days, OUTDOOR INTERLAKEN and the organisers of the Swiss Whitewater Cup decided to keep going with this Boater Cross and moreover make it the first "Swiss Championships" in this new and exciting discipline!
The date was set with the meaning, that athletes who participate at the World Cup this year can fly into Zurich, come to Interlaken and leave from there to the first World Cup in Prague the following weekend, before coming over Augsburg to Thun and fly out again from Zurich... makes sense, no?!
