VW MULTIVAN RIVERJAM 2008

After 2 years, in which we focused beside Kayaking also on „River Surfing“ while the former „Thun River Jam“ Event, we move Kayak Freestylev into the center of our focus. Beside of it, to keep the funlevel high, we try to organise different program highlights for athletes and spectators alike.  And of course, after the days ended, there is  enough going on in the mighty town of Thun.

Kayak Freestyle ist he newest competition discipline within the International Canoe Federation, and defenatly a “fresh” addition. The goal is to execute in 45seconds as many different and technically difficult moves as possible. Each ride gets judged by a Jury.

The paddler has 30 seconds to set up for the most spectacular move possible.

King of the Wave Event

A group of various paddlers surfs during a few minutes the wave and tries to stay on the wave. The goal is to be surfing as last person when the bell is heard. Spectacular and funny scenes can be anticpated in this fun event. Aloud is what doesnt hurt.

Some of Switzerlands finest board athletes will get on their surfboards to bring a taste of Surfing to the lovely mountain town of Thun.

Slackline Show

The world famous Swiss Alpinist Stephan Siegrist will set up a „Slackline“ over the river, and walk over the water. Incredible balance skills and a high level of concentration is needed to make it from one side to the other. Defenatly one of the highlights in this years VW Multvan River Jam 2008.

Rafting Highender Event

The „Rafting Highender“ is getting a revival in this years „VW Multivan River Jam“. The quest is simple: High above the river a KEEN shoe will be atached on a rope. The raft has to peel out in the current and just before the wave, the whole crew has to lean in the back of the boat and pull the whole raft vertically up in the sky. One person has than to run/climb to the front and touch the shoe.

This event is open to the public. Necessary are swimming skills as well as the will to be part of this fun event! Inscription is on site!
